Cancer caught early is often treatable. Caught late, it is frequently not. In the villages we serve, most people have never been screened even once, and the first sign of illness is usually a symptom that arrives far too late.
A screening camp brings specialist doctors and diagnostic equipment to a community for the day. People are examined at no cost, anyone with a suspicious finding is referred onward, and we follow up to make sure they actually reach treatment rather than going home and hoping.
